Sunset in the Field Party

Support Conservation by Giving a Gift today in Support of LTV’s 23rd Annual Garden Party and Come to the Sunset in the Field Party on October 24th!

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 24th – Sunset in the Field Party

This fun gathering will be held in a gorgeous field with a beautiful view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Join us and be entertained by Bluegrass music and a yummy meal. Pick one of the straw bales and settle in while we all watch the sunset.

As you know, we had to cancel last year’s Garden Party due to the pandemic, but we thought for sure we would be able to gather this year. But here we are again. We had to decide – Should we hold it in-person or virtually; should we have it now or postpone it? We realized that what is most important is for all of us to be safe.

Our Garden Party is our biggest fundraising event of the year. Each Spring we depend upon your support of the Garden Party to continue our work.

So, we decided to ask for your support NOW because we need it to continue to do our conservation work. We decided to do our Garden Party now but virtually and then get together in-person in the Fall.

What we also decided to do, again to be safe and keep the number of guests down, we decided to hold –

TWO in-person events in the Fall.

Two events at two different price points.

Two different dates, two different locations.

You get to decide which one you’d like to attend and how much you’d like to contribute to our work.

Only our most generous of supporters are being invited to the Burden’s Cocktail Party on October 10th.

When you give now you will get …

  • The link to join us on Sunday, May 23rd– Come take a walk with us virtually down the very special garden paths of Bunny Mellon’s Oak Spring Gardens with a guided tour by Sir Peter Crane, President of the Oak Spring Garden Foundation. With your ticket, you will receive a specialty cocktail recipe plus charcuterie pairing tips (by local small businesses The Conche and The Cornichon), be treated to a mixologist who will whip up the specialty cocktail drink plus Childs will be announcing our very own annual conservation award winners.
  • Then also, information about joining us IN-PERSON on Sunday, October 24thin a beautiful field on a gorgeous property, to spread out, listen to great Bluegrass music, eat great food, and watch the sunset together. Afterall, isn’t the preservation of that spectacular landscape what it is all about?

To learn about the other event being planned for the Fall, for October 10th, see the information on the Burden’s Cocktail Party (here).
