The 22nd Annual Garden Party Goes Virtual (old)

SPECIAL INVITATION
We invite you to join us for LTV’s 22nd Annual “Phantom” Garden Party!

Support the Phantom Garden Party!

Watch this space on May 31st at 4:00 pm for a special video link!

Sunday, May 31st, 4:00 p.m.
No RSVP necessary

But send us your email address if you don’t think we have it:  sally@landtrustva.org

Perhaps you already know, or suspect, that because of COVID-19, the Land Trust of Virginia has cancelled our 22nd Annual Garden Party, scheduled for Sunday, May 31st, beginning at 4:00 p.m.

For 21 years, families who have put their properties into easement, our supporters who have financially helped us do this work, and friends who appreciate our protected open spaces, have gathered to celebrate all that we have accomplished together — Almost 22,000 acres in 17 Virginia counties permanently protected.

Financially, this annual celebration has helped raise the funds we need to keep up our conservation work. Donations from the community to our silent auction (part of the event), ticket sales, and Garden Party sponsors have enabled us to raise the funds that supports our staff’s work from spring through mid-summer.

But all is not lost! We invite you to sit back and have a bit of fun while joining us on Sunday, May 31st at 4:00 p.m. (the appointed party time), in the comfort of your home for our

Phantom Garden Party

For the occasion, pour yourself something special to drink and get out of your PJs and don your Garden Party attire. Make an event of it. Take your picture and send it to us. And enjoy what we have prepared for you. NOTE: This is not a Zoom call.

For additional information about the Phantom Garden Party, please contact Kerry Roszel, Development Manager at 540-687-8441 or kerry@landtrustva.org

I thought the video was delightful! Sally was beautiful - the music was nostalgic - photos were fun - message was on point. For the first virtual garden party in history - I think you all nailed it. Congratulations on raising to the pandemic challenges and bringing a little joy to the Land Trust community.

Thank you for giving us a delightful opportunity to applaud the diligent work of protecting one of VA's most valuable resources - our land. During these challenging times it evermore pressing that we not neglect nonprofits whose mission is preserving beauty for future generations. Protecting land is timely and essential work. You proved that despite the pandemic - the phantom party must go on. Cheers to LTV!

Imagine how beautiful the Garden Party would have been with this perfect weather we’re having today. There’s nothing better than a day like today in the Virginia countryside, and the important work of the Land Trust of Virginia is what allows us to enjoy it each and every day. Heading back outside now!
