The Seventh Annual Joseph Miller Abstract Photography Exhibit will take place May 6 -29 at Stone Oak, a wonderful twenty-two acre nature preserve that is forever protected by a conservation easement. The exhibit will be open noon – 5:00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays, and on Monday, May 29, Memorial Day.
The exhibit showcases some of the nation’s best abstract photographers in a juried competition. Many of the photographs will be for sale. Attendees will have an opportunity to vote for their favorite artist. Formal awards will be presented at an exhibit opening on Sunday May 7.
Abstract photography is a unique art form that, like abstract painting, defies definition. It is regarded as colorful, thought provoking, fun and mysterious. Reality is captured in surprising non-representational ways! Joe Miller has been involved with abstract photography for over 50 years and regularly conducts seminars and lectures on the subject.
Joe is a charter member of LTV’s Legacy Giving Program. In 2015 he established the Joseph A. Miller Land Conservation Fund, an endowed fund supporting LTV’s intake of land conservation easements.
Stone Oak is located at 4811 Catharpin Road in Gainesville, Virginia.
